“Modern Family” star Ty Burrell knows this is a tough time for bar and restaurant owners. He’s one of them and concedes his Utah establishments — like many others — may not survive the coronavirus collapse.
But he remains hopeful — and helpful.
The Salt Lake Tribune (Jan. 12, 2020) – The stars of “Modern Family” are mulling offers and considering what they’ll do after they film the sitcom’s final episode, but Ty Burrell knows exactly what’s next for him.
FOX 13 (Jan. 9, 2020) – It’s hard to miss the giant sign with the bunny rabbit as you drive into the City of Holladay. The sign leads you to the Cotton Bottom Inn, a bar that’s been a staple in the community for decades.
Gastronomic Salt Lake City (Dec. 1, 2019) – This one via press release: Holladay’s historic property, The Cotton Bottom Inn will undergo a renovation.
City Weekly (Nov. 20, 2019) – The Bar X group recently bought the Cotton Bottom Inn (6200 S. Holladay Blvd.), perhaps best known for its legendary garlic burgers. This purchase adds Cotton Bottom to the Bar X family of restaurants that include Bar X, Bar Deluxe and Park City’s Eating Establishment.
Salt Lake Tribune (Nov. 12, 2019) – The owners of Salt Lake City’s Bar X and Beer Bar say they will purchase Holladay’s iconic Cotton Bottom Inn and expand it — promising to maintain the atmosphere of the quintessential neighborhood tavern while also keeping its signature garlic cheeseburgers on the menu.
Utah Now (Nov. 9, 2019) – For more than 50 years the property at 6252 South Holladay Boulevard has been the site of the iconic Cotton Bottom Inn, a small, cozy bar known for its no-frills environment and garlic cheeseburgers. The planned refurbishing is meant to preserve that legacy while bringing new life to the property and maintaining the true spirit of the original.
Utah Beer Blog (Nov. 8, 2019) – …I have some news about one of the state’s oldest adult institutions, the Cotton Bottom. If you’re not aware, the Cotton Bottom is a tavern located in an area of the City of Holladay known as Knudsen’s Corner (6200 s.). The tavern was originally a general store operated by the Knudsen family until 1966 when Helen Chlepas bought the property and turned the store into a tavern.
